Prom Offers Seniors Fun Evening

As the final weeks draw to an end and thoughts of graduation echo throughout East Longmeadow’s High School halls. For the seniors, this is a long awaited, yet bittersweet, journey coming to an end.

And with the closing weeks growing thin, everyone tries to gather whatever last memory they can before the next chapter of their lives. One of the most memorable moments for anyone was their high school prom.

“Overall, it was a pretty good event,” Jeffrey Rosenkranz, a senior at East Longmeadow High School, said. “The location was really nice, there were some things that I didn’t entirely like, but it wasn’t bad at all.”

East Longmeadow High School held their prom for seniors on May 12th at GreatHorse. A highly prestigious location for seniors and their friends as they wrap up their time in the halls of ELHS.

And many felt the same way as Jeffrey Rosenkranz, overall feeling very pleased with how the event turned out, while still having a couple of things that they wished were better when looking back.

“I think he (the DJ) did alright with the music overall,” Gianna Alves, a senior, said. “I feel like we got to dance a little later than we should have. It felt like we didn’t dance for long enough.”

Gianna wasn’t the only one who thought the dancing came up short. The dance floor was small and the DJ repeated the same songs a few times.

“I think the dancing was fun, the music was also pretty good,” Gilda D’Ascoli, a senior, said. “There were certain times where it felt like songs were being replayed or played longer than they should have.”

But even with the one tiny hiccup over the entire event, it was easily considered to be an overwhelmingly positive experience and a great send off for the seniors at East Longmeadow.

“Prom was good, I think that people had a lot of fun,” Leah Nadle, a junior, said.
